Synopsis
Students will be taught the fundamentals of:
i. Song Writing (Idea, Structure & Lyrics)
ii. Usage of Tune, Pitch, Chords, Tempo and Rhythm
iii. Music Arrangement
iv. Software: GarageBand (Mac), Acid Pro (Windows)
Students will then be taught to combine all the fundamentals they have learnt as mentioned above and apply them to the software ‘GarageBand’ with the following techniques that may be useful to their work:
i. Recording
ii. Mixing
iii. Compression
iv. Distortion
v. Echo
vi. Effects (FX)
vii. Panning
viii. Reverb
ix. Sampling
x. Sequencing
Highlights
Each group of students will write, record, produce and present one song.
